School search results in one arrest

    MARS HILL, Maine – A local teenager is headed to court following a drug search at Central Aroostook High School Jan. 11.
     “In its ongoing effort to combat illegal drug use and keep Maine schools safe, the Maine State Police, together with Central Aroostook High School staff, conducted a drug search on Thursday,” said Sgt. David McPherson, of the MSP.
Three troopers, using K-9s, searched the premises for drugs and drug paraphernalia in lockers at the Mars Hill school. Upon completion, one student was charged with possession.
“After the search had been conducted, 18-year-old Rickey Antworth, of Mars Hill, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia,” said McPherson.
No court date was available.
