Rotary donates fuel to those in need

Rotary Club
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met on Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. The club held a business meeting, discussing the recent fuel raffle. The 1,000 gallons of fuel was won by Troy Giberson, who is donating 600 gallons of it back to the club. The club will give 100 gallons to each of six local folks who are in need of a helping hand.

The Annual Birthday calendars have arrived and are being distributed this week. They run through January 2008.

Healthy Active Aging
There will be a Healthy Active Aging session held at the Walter T. A. Hansen Memorial Library on Thursday, Jan. 25, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
These fun and informative sessions are led by Chris Finemore of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and are designed to help explore the benefits of a good diet and physical activity. For more information, please contact Chris at 425-6606.

Bridgewater Meeting
The Bridgewater Sesquicentennial Committee will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. at the Bridgewater Community Building.
This group is comprised of members of the general public, the BCA Reunion Committee, Bridgewater Historical Association, Bridgewater Fire Department and Bridgewater Recreation Department.
Plans are being developed for a combined celebration in 2008 of Bridgewater’s sesquicentennial and the next BCA reunion. Anyone who is interested is invited to attend the meeting.
