FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine – Our National Honor Society (NHS) is involved with many activities throughout the school. One thing that the NHS is very well known for is hosting a quarterly honors breakfast.
This is where students at the school get recognized by the NHS for good grades and are rewarded with a breakfast put on by our lunch ladies, who do an exceptional job, by the way.
We are very passionate about raising money for people diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. We raise money through personal donations and also by collecting bottles during the school year. This year, the NHS will also be preparing for next year, as we will be hosting a regional NHS convention at our school.
Just recently we have inducted new members into the NHS. Instead of the small group of four that we have had for quite some time, we are now a strong and healthy group of 14.
Another thing the NHS is very fond of is helping out our special needs kids at the Special Olympics in the spring.
The NHS is no doubt one of the best organizations that our school has to offer to students and it is most definitely good for the school itself.
Both teachers and students recognize the NHS as a respected and honorary organization. I believe that the NHS gives students incentive to succeed which is, most of the time, hard to achieve anywhere else.
