AUGUSTA, Maine – Maine Public Utilities Chairman Kurt Adams will address a special joint meeting of the Presque Isle and Caribou Chambers of Commerce on Wednesday, April 18 at 8:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center.
Chairman Adams will discuss the various factors that have led to the recent increases in standard offer electricity rates in Aroostook County, including: A status report on the energy market in Aroostook County; the latest steps the PUC has taken to address market constraints; assistance and efficiency programs available to businesses; and long-term solutions for a healthy economy and sustainable energy market.
Adams also plans to meet with the Maine Potato Board in Presque Isle and visit with local businesses in Limestone and Madawaska during his visit to the County.
