The Madawaska girls and Presque Isle sophomore boys claimed championships in the 2007 High School Indoor Soccer Tournament held March 24 at Northern Maine Community College.
The Madawaska girls took an undefeated record into the semifinals. They defeated Ashland by a score of 3-0 to earn a spot in the championship game. They took on the team from Presque Isle, who defeated Caribou in the semis, 2-0. Madawaska went on to defeat Presque Isle 3-1 in the championship game.
On the boys side, the Presque Isle sophomores went into the playoffs as the third seed, after finishing 2-1-1 in preliminary action. They met up with Caribou in the semis, upsetting the second seed with a 1-0 double overtime victory. The sophomores met up with the top-seeded Presque Isle Juniors in the championship game, the only team to go undefeated in preliminary action. The juniors knocked off the Presque Isle seniors 4-1 in their semifinal matchup. In the championship game, the sophomores held on for the 2-1 victory. Ashland also participated on the boys side.
