OXFORD – Tammy Lee Dubois, 42, formerly of Washburn died on April 19, 2007 in Granite Falls, North Carolina, the result of an automobile accident. She was born Sept. 26, 1964 in Presque Isle, the daughter of the late Clifton and Elaine (Bondeson) Chamberlain. She grew up in Crouseville, graduating from Washburn District High School in 1982. She then graduated from Berkshire Christian College in Lenox, Massachusetts, in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in theology and business administration. She married Philip C. DuBois on June 24, 1989. Mrs. Dubois worked for the Kofstad Insurance Agency for several years before moving to the Oxford Hills area in 2002. She then worked for Dr. Tere Porter, optometrist, for 3 years. She had been a member of the Dunntown Advent Christian Church in Washhburn, holding several leadership positions. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Oxford Advent Christian Church. Mrs. DuBois was active in foster and adoptive care programs.
She is survived by her mother of Ashland; her husband of Oxford; her son Jamie, of Oxford; a sister and her husband, Katrina and Rev. John Fogell of Alton Bay, New Hampshire; two brothers and their wives, Andrew and Bonnie Chamberlain of Marietta, Georgia, Rev. Alan and Esther Chamberlain of Friendship; mother-in-law, Phyllis DuBois and brother-in-law Rev. Sidney Dubois, both of Friendship; two sisters-in-law, Hazel and Rev. Clayton Blackstone of Bangor, Patricia and Dr. Darrell Thompson of North Tazewell, Virginia; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 15th from 1:00 -3:00 PM at the Oxford Advent Christian Church with a memorial service at 3PM. A burial service will be held 11:00AM Friday August 17, 2007 at Hillside Grove Cemetery, Crouseville with the Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. A lunch will follow at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church in Washburn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DuBois Memorial Scholarship Fund of Maine State Conference of Advent Christian Churches, Attn: Rev. Bill Monroe, 35 Brookside Drive, East Waterboro, ME 04030 “Waiting for the blessed hope.”
