PRESQUE ISLE – When we talk about revitalizing Main Street, a large part of what we’re talking about is bringing new businesses to our downtown while retaining existing businesses. This is no easy task in this day and age. But in a few weeks, we’ll be getting some excellent advice from a person who has been a strong friend of Presque Isle for many years.     On Friday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 a.m., the Presque Isle Downtown Revitalization Committee, in partnership with the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting an Eggs ‘N Issues breakfast at the Northeastland Hotel in Presque Isle. The featured speaker will be Dana Connors, former Presque Isle city manager and current president of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce. He will be speaking about the importance of both new business and business retention for the re-energizing of our downtown.
As the leader of the state’s chamber, Connors dedicates his energy to achieving goals that will grow Maine’s economy and enhance prosperity for all Maine people. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public management from the University of Maine and has served on many federal, state, and regional boards and commissions.
Everyone is encouraged to attend this Eggs ‘N Issues breakfast. Connors is well known for his passion for the county and especially Presque Isle. Business people, members of civic groups, individuals … anyone who is interested in helping to grow our economy and make Presque Isle a destination will benefit from what he has to say. Please join the Downtown Revitalization Committee, the Chamber members, and Connors at the Northeastland on Oct. 12.
The cost of the breakfast is $8. To make your reservations, you can call Cathy at Wilder’s Jewelry Store (764-0309) or the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce office at 764-6561.
