Mud Run banquet
    The Aroostook County Mud Runners end-of-year banquet will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the Linneus Sno-Sports clubhouse.
Houlton Hockey League forming
 Several area hockey players are working to form an organized Adult league in Houlton at the Millar Civic Center for the winter of 2007-2008. The co-ed league would be open to all abilities and skill levels for anyone over 18 years of age. Organizers are hoping to have enough players for four teams, each playing one game per week. Cottle memorial hoop tourney slated
    The first Brandon Cottle Memorial Basketball Tournament will be held Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Houlton Recreation Department.
    Former high school basketball players, along with the rec “legends” will be on hand to compete in the 5-on-5 double elimination tourney, which starts at 8 a.m.
    Tickets will be $7, and can be purchased in advance. There will be a raffle, door prizes and snacks during the event. All proceeds to benefit the Brandon Cottle Memorial Scholarship Fund.
