Machias Savings Bank would also like to recognize three very special employees who received Support Department, Branch and Officer of the Year. The criteria for Employee of the Year are based on accurate work, exceptional customer service, job knowledge, positive attitude and community service. Each of these employees received a plaque and a generous bonus.
The Support Department Employee of the Year was awarded to Cindy Rossignol. Cindy has been employed by Machias Savings Bank for five years. She is currently a Retail Loan Processor in the Loan Administration Department. “Cindy was first hired as a Loan Processor with specific emphasis on retail setup, and it wasn’t long before staff from various branches would go out of their way to comment on her enthusiasm, work ethic, and willingness to assist. She has continually focused on refining processes with an emphasis on greater loan quality in a timely fashion.” Cindy also graciously volunteers her time to create and maintain websites for the Rose M. Gaffney School and the Washington County Transition Council.
The Branch Employee of the Year was awarded to Nancy Owen. Nancy has been employed by Machias Savings Bank for seven years. She is currently a Senior Financial Service Representative in the Ellsworth High Street Branch. “Every branch needs someone who truly gets excited about coming to work everyday. Someone who takes on the daily responsibilities of the branch so that you never have to wonder if it gets done. Someone who works with integrity, and has the respect and trust of their customers to the point where it is not just advice that they give, but it’s the partnership that they create with the customer. Nancy is well respected by her peers and is highly regarded by our customers.” Nancy volunteers on the Beth C. Wright Cancer Board and has a strong presence in various local community activities.
The Officer of the Year was awarded to Robert Wood. Rob has been employed by Machias Savings Bank for 21 years. Rob is currently the Assistant Vice President and manager of the Information Systems Department. “Rob is an incredibly loyal and dedicated MSB employee. During the last five years, Rob’s department has grown into a stable high performance unit. One of Rob’s most important duties is to protect one of the bank’s valuable assets … our customers’ information. Rob embraced this challenge and today manages one of the most protected networks in banking.” Rob volunteers his time to participate in Customer Appreciation Day and the Blueberry Festival. Rob also serves as chairman of the Machias Valley Christian School Board and as an Elder of Machias Valley Baptist Church. He is also very active in the little league baseball program.
