HOULTON, Maine — Students wishing to enroll in January term university courses can register with University College at Houlton beginning Nov. 8. Registration for students enrolled in degree programs began Nov. 5. Most courses begin the week of Jan. 14.
This January, Maine’s seven public universities will offer more than 400 courses at University College at Houlton. Courses are taught by faculty on-site at the Center, online, and via interactive television (ITV) and videoconference.
At University College at Houlton and ITV high school sites in Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Danforth and Island Falls, students can take courses leading to degree and certificate programs in a variety of disciplines, including business administration, mental health and human services, financial services, library and information services, nursing, and more. To fit the busy lives of most working adults, the universities offer flexible schedules and course delivery options, including a growing number of online courses.
In addition to university courses, the Houlton Center offers personalized support for students, particularly to those beginning college for the first time. Staff help students apply for financial aid, navigate online courses, apply for admission to a degree program, register for classes, order text books, and much more.
