GORHAM – Saylor Jacobs, a sophomore, Class of 2010, was presented the William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete Award for outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments during the 2006-2007 academic year. The Department of Athletics and Recreation hosted the 20th annual William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete dinner and awards ceremony on Nov. 4 at the Upton Hastings Hall, on the Gorham campus.
Each of the 130 scholar-athletes receive a medallion symbolic of their achievement and the number of years they have won the special award.
A large number of family and friends joined faculty, coaches and athletes for the event.
Jacobs has been a member of the cross country team for the years 2006 and 2007.
He is the son of Pat Jacobs, of Presque Isle.
