    The Caribou Middle School boys’ basketball team had two close games to open their 2007-08 season. The Vikings fought hard but eventually fell to Limestone, 39-38, and Houlton, 44-39.    In the Limestone game, Caribou made a late fourth quarter comeback after trailing by six points with three minutes left in the game.
    The comeback fell short when Limestone hit the go ahead basket with 50 seconds left on the clock. The Vikings had four open shots in the final seconds but could not sink them.
    Caleb Chapman poured in 17 points. Matt Kamm and Nick Pucci added six each. Kjetil Rossignol came off the bench to add four points. Jake Maher put in three points.
    In the Houlton matchup, the Vikes fell behind by 12 in the first half. They made a comeback in the fourth quarter only to fall short at the buzzer.
    Chapman netted 16 points, Chad Caverhill added 12, including triple three-point baskets. Preston Jackson chipped in with four points.
