PRESQUE ISLE – William and Ruth Willette of Presque Isle celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 11, 2007 at the home of their daughter, Robin Beckwith and her husband, Tim, on the Chandler Road in Presque Isle. Four generations were there to celebrate.
William and Ruth have nine children, 34 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Some of the family members who attended the celebration were: (children) Larry and Linda Willette, Alan and Leslie Willette, Vanessa and Gene Fraser, Rosemary Kidney, and Leon Willette; (grandchildren) Stacey and Sheldon Hyde, Scott and Bobby Cote, Brandy Willette, and Alana Willette; (great-grandchildren) Jordan Willette, Carson Willette, and Alex and Brianna Hyde.
The great-grandchildren had fun playing games and helping Grammy and Grampy open their gifts. There was a large table of home cooked food and treats for all to share, as well as a cake. After the celebration, everyone enjoyed playing cards.
