CPT marks 20 years

Aroostook County’s largest and most experienced physical therapy provider recently reached a significant milestone, celebrating their 20th anniversary. County Physical Therapy, LLC (CPT) first opened their doors in 1987 in Caribou with founder Mark Rossignol as the only Physical Therapist. Today, County Physical Therapy has 16 therapists and nearly 50 employees spread over 5 clinics, and is still committed to delivering a quality choice in physical therapy.
“Patients always have the choice where they get their physical therapy. My goal 20 years ago was to provide a quality choice for area residents,” stated Rossignol. “I had trained and been in several top clinics in the country, and wanted to bring the same level of care and service back to Aroostook County. I established for CPT the core values of service, leadership, teamwork, education, and respect. I have always regarded the opportunity to work with patients as a privilege, and I am truly appreciative of the opportunity we have had to help people obtain a better quality of life by overcoming various injuries and hardships, and ultimately obtaining their goal of returning to as active a lifestyle as possible.”
CPT opened their second clinic in Presque Isle in 1997, followed by Madawaska in 1999, Fort Kent in 2000, and Houlton in 2002. “Over the past 20 years County Physical Therapy has grown in its success primarily because of the excellent staff which is highly qualified, knowledgeable, motivated, and dedicated,” explained Rossignol. “I am proud to say that most of our therapists are Aroostook County natives. We have been able to attract and retain what I consider to be the best team of therapists in the state of Maine. We spend time on advanced training and continuing education, and we are always looking to make ourselves better.”
“We also invest in equipment and facilities to ensure state-of-the-art clinics. CPT recently hosted a staff educational in-service at our new clinic in Presque Isle. In attendance was one of our supply vendors, who commented that our clinic was one of the best he had seen in all of New England.”
Over the last few years, CPT has expanded its services beyond traditional physical therapy. CPT now offers occupational therapy, ergonomic programs, custom orthotics, and women’s therapy services in lymphedema, urinary incontinence, and cancer rehab. CPT has also introduced fitness and wellness programs at all of their clinics, and operates fitness centers in Caribou, Presque Isle, and Fort Kent that are open to the public.
Rossignol summed up by saying, “Our philosophy of wellness, continuum of care, and facilitating active, healthy, and fit lifestyles continues to be the cornerstone of our practice. What I remember most about the past 20 years is the opportunity to have gotten to know many different people, and realizing that people don’t care how much you know, but want to know how much you care. I am confident that with this philosophy County Physical Therapy will continue to achieve success for another 20 years and beyond.”
