Aroostook Home Health Care and Valley Home Health Care held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for their new location on South Main Street in Caribou on Thursday, Dec. 13. The new 4,000 square foot location will better accommodate the staff of 70 employees. Aroostook Home Health Care and Valley Home Health Care served over 1,000 Aroostook County residents in the past year between the three offices in Fort Kent, Caribou and Houlton. All three locations have recently expanded and currently employ 175 Aroostook County locals.
Aroostook Home Health Care provides in-home services to clients who are: disabled, bed or wheelchair bound, unable to perform daily tasks such as doing laundry or running errands, recovering after discharge from a hospital, nursing home or rehabilitation facility. Aroostook Home Health Care also provides respite for family caregivers.
Aroostook Home Health Care provides skilled and private duty nurses to clients to give hands-on care, aiding in bathing and toileting, medication management, light housekeeping, cooking, feeding, as well as bed to chair transfers for wheel chair bound clients.
