School celebrates reading night

    HODGDON — Mill Pond School in Hodgdon celebrated Family Reading Night Dec. 13.
    The special holiday edition of reading night included the story, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” by Dr. Suess. The story was narrated by staff members Maryann Sylvain and Karen Rochford.

    After the story, band teacher Kelly Ellis led the group in singing.
    Children in grades Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 4, along with their families, made a craft and enjoyed hot cocoa and cookies. Coloring contest winners for the night were: Levi Smith, Pre-K; Alana Mullen, kindergarten; Grade Malone, grade 1; Sarah Hutchinson, Grade 2; Jill Gough, Grade 3; and Jastity Stoddard, Grade 4.
    Family Reading Night is held monthly at Mill Pond School and is sponsored by the Home and School Coordinator Rhonda Foster.
