To the editor:
Houlton historian Dick Rhoda along with other Masons of the Monument Lodge are to be commended for offering to our community an opportunity to hear the peace traditions of Christians, Muslims and Jews. We found these sessions to be informative in an atmosphere of good will and respect.
The photo of local attendees representing these three faith traditions taken with the speaker, Rabbi Darah Lerner, following the third Symposium on Peace (Pioneer Times, 12/05/07) graces our kitchen bulletin board because it is a sign of hope as we enter a New Year. May we strive in 2008 to honor that of God in every person and do onto others as we wish they would do unto us.
