BREWER – Hamden Academy netted double-goals in the opening seconds of the Presque Isle game last Wednesday leading to an eventual 4-3 win in high school hockey action at the T.J. Ryan Center in Brewer.

Head coach Dr. Carl Flynn started freshman goalie Josh McFarline for some much-needed ice time. According to Flynn, McFarline played well in the PIHS net, but still needs more minutes and experience.
“We dominated the play, but their goalie did really well,” explained Flynn. “We outshot them 31-22 and had three goal posts, but after the two opening goals we just couldn’t come back.”
Dylan Collins, Brennen Shaw and Brandon Daigle each slapped in a puck for the Wildcats in the offensive effort.
“It could be a wakeup call,” said Flynn, who hoped the loss would give the team a boost of aggressiveness.
