Ricker Rumblings

Merry Christmas and all that goes with it. May you each spend the holiday with family, friends and have a wonderful day of giving and love.
We had a lovely party upstairs on Saturday for the tenants given by the staff, Charlene, assisted by Brian, Chris and Adam. We had a delicious meal but first we were honored with Lacey O’Donnell on the violin. She soloed from Bach to all the Christmas carols and is an accomplished violinist. Thank you very much. The meal was followed by gift giving and Santa was most generous. Two centerpieces were drawn as prizes; one winner was Priscilla Brownlow and the other name I don’t have as I had to leave before the party ended. Thank you all.
As this is written, our neighbor Harold McCarthy is a patient at the Houlton Regional Hospital where he entered on Saturday morning. I’m sure all the residents are rooting for Harold. Get well.
We all were sorry to learn of the death of John Lowery, who died in Iraq. He gave his life for his country. His father, Winfield Lowery, is a diner in the Meals on Wheels and we send out our sympathy to him and his family.
This communication is short this morning but my wish is one of everlasting words: peace and joy to you and yours.
My thought for the day is taken from Psalm 11:25-6: “Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice. Surely he will never be shaken…”
Have a great week.
