Bank concludes giving campaign

    HOULTON — For the past several years, Machias Savings Bank has sponsored the Christmas Giving Tree campaign at all twelve of their branch locations. 
    During the month of December, employees and customers were encouraged to bring in a gift suitable for a boy or a girl of any age and place it under the tree located in the lobby of the branch.  These gifts were then delivered to the needy children in our areas.  The Christmas Giving Tree stretches all the way from Houlton to Bar Harbor and has been very successful and meaningful to the communities in Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot and Washington counties. The bank works in conjunction with many organizations in their market areas including The Salvation Army in Houlton and the National Honor Society at East Grand High School in Danforth.
    The bank extended appreciation to these organizations, saying that the success of the program would not be possible without their efforts.
