Monkey Publishing, a Caribou-based publisher, has announced the release of two new titles including the fourth book in their “Pioneer Homes” series.
The “Pioneer Homes of Presque Isle, Including Maysville” by Caribou resident, William Tasker, was released on Nov.28 and has been well received by the public, according to the publisher.     “People have asked us to include Presque Isle for the past two years,” states Robin Drost, a partner in the firm and the photographer of the series. “We were happy to deliver such a quality book to satisfy the demand.”
The “Pioneer Homes” is a series of table books featuring the older houses in a particular town or group of towns. Filled with high resolution pictures, historical photos and packed with genealogy, the publisher has featured Caribou, Washburn (which included Perham and Wade) and this year released its Houlton offering.
“We focus on the highest quality and the books have all been very successful,” adds Drost. “We are looking forward to the next towns on our list.”
Monkey Publishing has released a new fantasy novel on Dec.13 by Presque Isle resident, Christopher Summerson. “Beatrice Beaufort and the Serpenti Quest” is Summerson’s first novel and tells the story of an ordinary eleven year-old girl whose mother is kidnapped and taken to another world. With the help of a magic-user, Beatrice crosses over and discovers that she is the only person who can speak to the Serpenti, dragon-like creatures that hold the key to defeating the evil Coyle and saving Beatrice Beaufort’s mother. Written for ages ten and above, the soft cover is 267 pages and slots in the growing marketing space created by authors such as Christopher Paolini.
All of the publisher’s offerings are available at the company website: www.monkeypublishing.com and at many local and statewide venders.
