Koch, Barbara A., 64, January 6, 2008. A celebration of life was held in Tucson, AZ.
TUSCON, AZ – Barbara A. (Titcomb) Koch, 64, passed away January 6, 2008. She was born March 22, 1943, in Houlton, to Mary (Hagerman) and Edward Payson Titcomb.
After much dedicated study, Barbara received her Bachelor of Social Work from Arizona State University. Shortly after that, she started as a volunteer/intern at Tu Nidito, which is a support service for children and their families as they face serious illness and death. She quickly became an integral part of this service as a grief counselor, working with children and teens.
In May 2006, Barbara was honored as a Tucson Remarkable Mom, an event held to recognize women who celebrate life and who have helped others to do so, as well.
She is survived by a daughter, Chana Fligg and husband Jarrod, a son, Curtis Holland, and granddaughter, Bryana Holland, all of Tucson, AZ; Brenda Wright and husband Jim of Houlton; two nieces, Sherri Quint and husband Ben of Houlton, Cristy Maher of Chesapeake, VA; and a great-niece, Ashley Nall of Chesapeake, VA.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Tu Nidito Children and Family Services, 3922 N. Mountain Ave., Tucson, AZ 85719. Contributions in Barbara’s memory may be made to Tu Nidto.
