Chamber announces dinner honorees

    PRESQUE ISLE – What do the Presque Isle Rotary Club, Downtown Revitalization Committee, an eye doctor and a husband and wife who are involved in Scouting have in common?     All will be honored at the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Citizen of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Awards Banquet, scheduled to take place the evening of Feb. 7.
    “This year’s annual recognition dinner theme is ‘Vision of a New Tomorrow.’ The event will be held at the University of Maine at Presque Isle Campus Center, with the social beginning at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and entertainment at 6:30 p.m.,” said Paul Kinney, interim director of the PIACC.
    This year’s award recipients include: Lifetime Achievement Award – Tom and Kathy Peary (for their many years involved in Scouting); Citizen of the Year – Dick Graves (for his continued work in preserving the history of Presque Isle); Economic Development – Downtown Revitalization Committee; and Volunteer Person/Group of the Year – Presque Isle Rotary Club.
    Cost for the event is $35 per individual, $60 for couples and $230 for a table of eight. A buffet will be provided, featuring vegetarian lasagna and chicken. Reservations are required, with reserved seating for tables of eight only.
