Limestone meeting planned

The Limestone Board of Selectpeople announce a public hearing Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the Limestone Community School, in room B101 to consider the report and recommendations of a special committee they created to study how best to accomplish community development, strengthen the Chamber of Commerce and facilitate new housing.  All of these issues were identified as priorities by the January 2007 vision “Strategic Action Plan,” attended by 70 townspeople. Basically, the special committee recommends that town funding for the Limestone Development Foundation be curtailed and instead be used to fund a new town position, Community Developer/Greater Limestone Chamber Executive.
This public hearing is intended to provide a chance to share firsthand the committee report and provide an opportunity for questions. This is also a time for Limestone citizens to provide input to the Selectpeople.
