Kennel Club obedience classes
    PRESQUE ISLE — Central Aroostook Kennel Club (CAKC) will once again offer clicker-based obedience classes for puppies and dogs. Instructors Dotty Dudley and Pat Smith will teach two sessions of “Canine Good Manners” from 6 to 7 p.m. and 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. on Monday evenings beginning March 10 for eight weeks at the Community Recreation Center in Presque Isle.     Orientation/registration night for both sessions is Monday, March 10 at 6 p.m. Handlers are reminded not to bring their dogs to the orientation. Advance registration for “Canine Good Manners” is required as class size is limited. Cost for each dog/handler team is $60. Contact Dotty Dudley at 488-6841 for specific registration information.
Community comedy
    PRESQUE ISLE – How would you like to enjoy a night of comedy where you don’t have to worry about four-letter words and x-rated innuendos? Would you like to take your whole family and watch your children have fun? Well, here’s a show for you.
    Nationally-acclaimed comedy troupe 3-2-1 Improv will bring tears to your eyes, a pain to your side and they’ll make your face ache with laughter! Plan to attend one of their performances at the Presque Isle Middle School on March 7 and 8, at 7 p.m.
    Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for 65 and over or under 12. Tickets can be purchased by calling the office of Grant Memorial Methodist Church in Presque Isle at 762-9531 or at the Aroostook Centre Mall.  Don’t miss this unique community event of laughter.  For more information, check out the 3-2-1 video clip on the church Web page at www.gmumc.net.
   Poet offers public reading
    PRESQUE ISLE – At the invitation of the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Writer-in-Residence, Cathie Pelletier, a nationally acclaimed poet, will offer a community presentation titled One Poet’s Life at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 7, at the Campus Center.
    McNair’s presentation will include an interactive slideshow presentation. He also will read selected poems from his works and sign books following the presentation. This event is free and all are encouraged to attend. For information call 768-9452 or e-mail susan.pinette@umpi.edu.
Sign language workshop for babies
    PRESQUE ISLE – Would you like to teach your baby a communication tool before he or she can even speak? The University of Maine at Presque Isle is offering Sign Language for Babies on Monday evenings, beginning March 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Campus Center. It will be instructed by SAD 1 teacher and sign language club advisor, Nancy Watson. Watson promotes signing as a proven way to increase understanding, bonding and trust between a parent and young child. Cost for the six-week series is $50, not including book.
