SASWCD banquet April 10

    The Southern Aroostook Soil and Water Conservation District will be holding its annual awards banquet Thursday, April 10, at 5:30 pm at the Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowsled Club in Littleton. The evening is open to the public and will honor local producers, including a special Lifetime Conservation Farmer award to be presented to Donald Fitzpatrick. Other 2007 awardees include Steven Whited, Whited Farms —Conservation Farmer of the Year; Kevin and Kristi Brannen, Spring Break Maple & Honey — Diversified Farmers; and the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians — Conservation Partner. The evening program also includes a special guest speaker and presentation of the awards.
