February Students of Month named at Caribou Middle School

CARIBOU, Maine — The following students were named as “students of the month” during February at the Caribou Middle School.

Kendra Coffin was named the Brainiacs’ student of the month. She participates in strings; chorus and show choir and is an honor roll student. She was selected to represent her homeroom at the Young Authors Institute in March.

Taya Damboise was recognized as the Sur’five’ors Team student of the month. Words to describe Taya are “kind, compassionate and considerate.” She repeatedly displays genuine concern for the classmates and offers help to anyone without being asked.

The WOWs’ have chosen Matt Frost as the student of the month. He is an excellent student who is working diligently and is kind to other students. He excels in basketball and is on the AYBL and recreation teams. He also plays baseball and soccer. He likes to tell stories about his favorite pastimes of hunting, fishing, snow sledding and camping.

The student of the month for February for the “6-ceeders” is Sammie Camy, who exemplifies an all-around student. She is a highest honors student, student organization representative and participates in chorus as well as show choir and the drama club. She’s involved in the Maine Dance Academy and talent shows.

The STARS team has chosen Quriosity Garcia as the student of the month. She is a member of the school ibook team and very helpful in the classroom. Her favorite subjects are math and tech. ed. She listens to music, enjoys skateboarding and running. She hopes to become a member of the track team later this spring.

The SWAT team is pleased to announce that Sarah McQuade is their student of the month. She is an excellent student who enthusiastically participates in class. She is active in the Civil Rights Team and serves as vice president of the Builder’s Club. She eagerly support all school activities, including volunteering at the concession booths at basketball games.

The Grade 8 team has chosen Taylor Dwyer because of her willingness to help others, and her ability to set an example for all who attend CMS. Taylor participates on the CMS Math Team and is willing to help a classmate or teacher without being asked. Taylor is a wonderful role model to all students, and sets a great example regarding schoolwork and treatment of classmates, teachers and other adults.

Aaron Dodd also was named student of the month since he has made tremendous strides as an eighth-grader. His teachers are impressed by his work ethic and the positive impact it has had on his grades. He is conscientious, considerate, helpful and caring. Aaron is demonstrating his athletic ability as a member of the wrestling team. Even though this is his first year, he has stepped up as a leader and has been very successful.
