Oh, how Mr. ‘R’ loved to dance

To the editor:
Once again we lost one of our own, his name is Kenneth Roope. He was not only a resident, he was like one of our family. He could make us laugh and really make us feel whole. We even got to know his likes and dislikes for food. We could never mention the words eggs, margarine or butter in front of him – that is something he just could not stand.    When it was time for activities in the nursing home, he was always the first one in line. He liked to play golf, horseshoes, bowling and bingo; but his favorite was dancing. I wished you could have seen his feet go.
For the ones who knew him, you know how tall he was so it took a special lady to dance with him, as we didn’t want him to fall. He would stand close to his chair and when he was tired he would sit down – however, his feet were still going and he would have a big grin on his face.
