U.S. Sen. Susan Collins stopped to speak Monday with three Caribou ladies as they were taking their morning laps at the Caribou Wellness Center.

Cecile Barlow, left and daughter Sherrie McBreairty interrupted their daily walk at the Caribou Wellness Center, Monday morning to greet and speak to Senator Susan Collins, who was witnessing first-hand how the local residents are eagerly using the new recreational facility.

Senator Susan Collins, center, received a plaque for her Washington D.C. office, depicting the new Caribou Wellness Center, from Kathy Mazzurachelli, director of the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department, left, and Susan White, chairperson of the building committee. The plaque, created by Elizabeth Kretschemer of Easton, was presented to Sen. Collins during her initial visit to the new facility, Monday morning.
