HOULTON, Maine — Mark B. Jago, headmaster of Greater Houlton Christian Academy, is pleased to announce the honor parts for the graduating class of 2008.
Valedictorian is Jordan I. McGuire, the son of Brent and Shellby McGuire of Linneus.
GHCA has awarded McGuire many academic achievement awards for over his 4-year high school career. McGuire is a 4-year, highest honor roll student and a 4-year recipient of the Rotary Club Student Recognition Award. McGuire is a National Merit Finalist and has also been named one of the Maine Principal Association’s Outstanding Scholars. The Association of Christian Schools has awarded McGuire the Distinguished Christian Award for academics.
McGuire has been involved in “Youth in Government,” demonstrating a great interest in politics by his involvement in local and presidential campaigns. He has also been an active member of his class, serving as class president and, most recently, as student council president. In the fall, McGuire plans to pursue a degree in political science/government.
