PATTEN — A sex offender, on the run from New Hampshire authorities, was arrested last week in Patten.
According to information released by the Maine State Police, Todd Shaw was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender in the state of New Hampshire. Shaw, found hiding in a residence in Patten, was arrested and transported to Penobscot County Jail where he will await extradition to New Hampshire.
The New Hampshire Sex Offender Registry says that in 1988, Shaw, 31, was convicted of “aggravated felonious sexual assault” of a victim under 18 years of age. He was last reported living in Concord in 2007.
Trooper Tim Saucier made the arrest with assistance from Deputy Peter Stone of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
