WATERVILLE – The County Physical Therapy girls’ basketball team finished in second-place in the 11 and Under division of the Youth Basketball Organization of America (YBOA) State Tournament last weekend in Waterville. The girls lost 35-33 in the championship game to the Falmouth Firecrackers.

Parise Rossignol scored nine points to lead County Physical Therapy (CPT). Mackenzie Worcester and Carmen Bragg each scored eight points, while Hannah Graham and Maegan Fitzpatrick chipped in with four points each. CPT had a couple close shots at the end of the game, but the ball would not drop in their favor.
The CPT team started the tournament with a hard fought 34-25 win over the Maine Maniacs. Worcester had 12 points, followed by Rossignol with eight points and Graham with six. Fitzpatrick chipped in with four points, and Bragg and Nicole Olsen each had two points.
County Physical beat Falmouth 43-40 in their second contest. Bragg hit a big three-point shot with a minute left in the game, and Rossignol and Worcester went 3 for 4 from the foul line down the stretch to provide the final margin of victory. Falmouth missed a three-point shot at the buzzer that would have tied the game. The buzzer signaled Falmouth’s first loss in two years. Worcester scored 15 points, Bragg had 12 and Rossignol had eight points to pace the winners. Logan Bubar, Graham, Fitzpatrick and Janae Libby contributed two points each.
The County Physical Therapy girls rolled to a 60-18 win over the Maniacs in the semifinal. Every team member scored with Worcester scoring 12 of her 16 points in the first half, followed by Bragg with 12 points, Rossignol had nine, Fitzpatrick shot for eight, Bubar had seven, Libby aimed in six and Graham and Olsen added two points each.
