PRESQUE ISLE – Preceptor Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Thursday, April 10 at the home of Anne LaPlante. Emily Knight was co-hostess. Refreshments consisted of appetizers brought by LaPlante, Nancy Lee Smith, Knight and Darrylin Keenan. Sisters signed up to attend the Founder’s Day Banquet, which will be held Thursday, April 24 at 6 p.m. at the VFW in Fort Fairfield. The menu is a turkey dinner and assorted homemade pies. Sisters voted for Woman of the Year, the winner to be announced at Founder’s Day. A door prize for this event will be donated by a sister.
Sisters also signed up for next year’s committees, refreshments and hostesses.
Election of Officers for 2008-2009 results are: President, Emily Knight; Vice President, Bernice Belanger; Treasurer, Susan Czosnek; Recording Secretary, Miriam Gregg; Corresponding Secretary, Anne LaPlante; and Council Representative, Paula Flora.
The mystery gift, brought by Sue Blanchard, was won by Jane James.
The next meeting will be dinner out at 6 p.m. May 8.
