Caribou Little League
    The Caribou Little League will be holding its second tryout on Wednesday, April 16 at the Caribou Recreation Gymnasium at 6 p.m. Please make sure to sign in before the 6 p.m. start. For more information, call Kirk Cyr at 551-2727 or Chad McNeal at 493-4542.
Baseball clinic
    The Caribou High School varsity baseball team will hold a two day baseball clinic for athletes ages 9 to 12 at the Caribou High School Gym on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20. Times are 10 a.m. to noon on the first day and 1 to 3 p.m. on the second.  
    The clinic will teach fundamentals and techniques of baseball with the primary focus on learning the game. The cost is $20. For more information or to register, please call 493-4274.
UMPI events
    A bouldering competition will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Gentile Hall rock wall on Saturday, April 19. There will be prizes for the top male and female climbers. The fee is $5 for students and $7 for non-students. For more information, call 768-9401.
    The UMPI distinguished lecturer series will feature adventurer and educator T.A. Loeffler  on Monday, April 21 at 7 p.m. in Wieden Auditorium.
    A kayak roll session to teach safety skills and techniques will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 25 at the Gentile Hall pool. Admission is free for UMPI students and members and $5 for everyone else. For more information, call 768-9401.
    Climbing nights will be offered now through May at UMPI’s Gentile Hall. Climbing nights will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on May 5th. No experience is required. Please wear something comfortable to move in (no shorts permitted). There is no cost for members. $10 fee for non-members.  
ATV safety course
    The Star City ATV Club is sponsoring a two day ATV safety course on May 9 and 10 at the Presque Isle Police Department. Hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. on the 9th and 8 a.m. to noon on the 10th. The course is limited to 15 people so pre-registration is recommended. Students from 10 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The fee is $5.
