Children’s theater produces ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’

    HOULTON — Houlton Children’s Star Bright Theatre presented “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs of the Black Forest,” during performances on April 11 and 12 at Houlton High School.

THE KING HAS SPOKEN — Ashton Carmichael, right, plays Snow White’s absent-minded father, King Absentminded, in the weekend children’s theater production. Jacob Jones, playing the king’s faithful helper Skully, looks on.     The play was under the direction of Ann Barnes and student director Josh Green.
    Cast members included: Lizabeth Ponder Garcia as Time; Kierra Carmichael as Snow White; Brian Tuttle as Prince Goodhearted; Ashton Carmichael as King Absentminded; Michelle Green as Queen Bella; Chelsea Green as Maid Dim Witty; Jacob Jones as Skully and Lauren Hogan as the voice of the Mirror.     Playing Snow White’s animal friends were: Mariah Kini Zuraik as Bunny, Amelia Hanning as Bonnie, Molly Veysey as Primrose, Tessa McCormick as Tilly and Natalie Hill as Hoot.
HELLO? — Bunny Mariah Kini Zuraik peeks around the corner, looking for her friend Snow White.
    Trees of the Forest were Lauren Hogan, Rebecca Moreno, Gabriella Moreno and Micayla Fitzpatrick.
    Playing the dwarfs were Cody Queen as Little Banjo, Aaron Jack as Hickory, Daniel Moreno as Dickory, Zach Guiod as Doc, John Thatcher as Curly, Jillian Moran as Weepy and Lauren Eastham as Echo Echo.
PLOTTING — Maid Dim Witty, played by Chelsea Green, and Queen Bella, played by Michelle Green, make nasty plans for Snow White.
    Members of the tech crew included: Barbara Hogan, production coordinator; Mary Miller, music and sound effects; Rudy Ponder, Josh Green and Derek Thomas, lights and sound; Esther Faulkner, set design; Esther Faulkner, Mary Peabody, Jim Ward, Frannie Grant, Pat Hogan, Janet Bates, Jane Kuk, Pat Van Ess, Pam Hill and Sylvia Niznik, set painting.
IN THE BLACK FOREST — Trees of the Forest, from left, Lauren Hogan and Rebecca Moreno, play their enchanted best.
    Also, Regina Cunliffe, Susan McMann, Serena Fitzpatrick, Iliana Moreno, Adriana Moreno, Holly Westerdahl and Eileen McLaughlin, make up; Joanne Jones-Carmichael and Mary Green (with assistance from Betty Kervin and Chelsea Green), wardrobe; Tim Guiod and Duke Thatcher, back stage managers; Debbie and Tim Guiod, prop managers.
RESCUED AT LAST — Prince Goodhearted, otherwise known as Brian Tuttle, rescues Snow White, played by Kierra Carmichael, while Dwarfs Jillian Moran and Lauren Eastham look on.

CHARACTERS — Above: Cody Queen, playing the dwarf Little Banjo, adds some music of his own near the end of the play. At right: Lizabeth  Ponder Garcia plays the character “Time” (of “once upon a time” fame) in the children’s theater production of Snow White.
