Summer applications
    The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department is now taking applications for summer employment. There are anticipated openings for the following programs: baseball, softball, tennis, arts and crafts, lifeguard, office aide, crossing guard and summer maintenance. Please stop by the office to pick up an application. The deadline for summer applications is Friday, April 25.
Mother/Son dance
    The annual mother/son dance will be held at the Community Center on Friday, May 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. Boys in kindergarten through grade six and their dates will enjoy an evening of dancing and refreshments. Door prizes and great music will be provided by “Hits on the Run.” The cost is $6 per couple. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 28 at the recreation center.
After school archery
    The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be offering an introductory after school archery program starting May 5. Grades three to five will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m., and grades six to eight will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. The students will be introduced to the basic skills of archery, and they will work their way up through the Junior Olympic skills set. The cost of the six week program is $20. Registration will begin today. Equipment is provided. Please contact Adam at 764-2545, or adampirec@maine.rr.com, with any questions.
