MSSM announces summer camp deadline

    The Maine School of Science and Mathematics is now taking applications for the MSSM Summer Camps 2008. Once again, the MSSM is pleased to offer week-long residential camps specifically designed to provide eager young students who are curious about math, science, and technology, with new and exciting opportunities to explore these fields. The goal of the camps is for every camper to become more confident and excited about pursuing further studies, and, ultimately, careers related to these fields.  MSSM Summer Camps 2008 will run throughout the month of July according to the following schedule: June 29 – July 5,  Boys currently in grades 5-7; July 6 – July 12:  Boys currently in grades 7-9; July 13 – July 19:  Girls currently in grades 7-9; July 20 – July 26, Girls currently in grades 5-8.
    This summer’s camps will offer a wide variety of hands-on courses relating to topics such as astronomy, computer programming, forensic science, mathematics, and web design.  Each camp is also packed with recreational activities such as swimming, ultimate Frisbee, soccer, arts and crafts, and chess.
