Hershey track and field program
This program is for students aged 9- to 14-years-old, and will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m. a the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. The program runs from April 29 to June 5. Pre-registration is required.
Gym closed
Please note that the main floor of the gymnasium will be closed for approximately six days beginning Friday, April 25 for bleacher installation. Walkers will still be able to use the walking track.
April vacation activities
The following are activities being offered during April vacation. Pre-registration is required for all programs.
On Wednesday, April 23, students in grades five to eight are invited to go on a trip to Bradbury’s Sugar Shack in Bridgewater. Participants are asked to bring a backpack and bag lunch. The fee is $5. Also on Wednesday a detective science session will be held for students from kindergarten to fourth grade. Participants will learn about forensic science. There is no fee.
On Thursday, April 24, students in kindergarten through fourth grade are invited to a kite making workshop. There is no fee. Also on Thursday for students in grades five to eight is a rock climbing session at Gentile Hall at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. This is a rock climbing and swimming field trip. The fee is $7.
On Friday, April 25, there will be a spring trip to Francis Malcolm Science Center. The fee is $5. Participants must bring a bag lunch.
Vacation week recreation schedule
Open gym is Monday through Thursday from noon to 9 p.m. and closed on Friday and Saturday due to bleacher installation. The walking schedule is Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 1 to 5 p.m. game room hours are Monday through Friday from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.
Pitch, hit and run competition
A pitch, hit and run competition will be held on May 17 at the Caribou Little League Field from 10 a.m. to noon. The competition is for ages 7 to 14 determined as of July 17, 2008. For additional information, or to register, call 493-4224.
Mother/son dance
The annual mother and son dance will be held on Friday, May 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. Music will be by DJ Express, and photos by Duane are available for a fee. Refreshments will also be served.
Go girls
This program for girls in grades six to eight will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. starting May 5. The program offers a place where girls can express themselves, learn new skills and have fun. Those interested should call 493-4224.
