Contoocook, NH and Caribou – Delma Evelyn Russell, 92, died May 20, 2008, at Concord, NH. Mrs. Russell was born at Washburn, June 7, 1915, the daughter of Richard and Katie (Bugbee) Porter.
Mrs. Russell was active for many years in the First Baptist Church of Washburn where she taught Sunday school and worked in missions. Mrs. Russell served on the school board and was a member of the extension service and PTA of Woodland. After moving to Caribou in 1986, she became a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mission Circle and Golden Years. Mrs. Russell was predeceased by her husband Merle of 61 years on January 8, 1996. Mrs. Russell moved to Contoocook, NH in 1998, where she attended the Methodist Church and was active in charitable work of Concord Hospital. She also enjoyed working in her perennial garden.
Delma is survived by two daughters, Merleen Beale of Collinsville, VA and Pearl Hacker of Waco, TX; two sons Richard Russell of Bedford, NH and Peter Russell of Contoocook, NH; one sister Lois Jardine of Okeechobee, FL; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
