The 2008 Memorial Tournament, to benefit course beautification, was another big success. After planting flowers in our Memorial Garden, as we remembered loved ones who have passed, 44 players competed in a four-person team scramble. The team of Josh McGuire, Porter and Ian Gervais and Dylan Flewelling made six birdies and an eagle down the stretch to shoot eight under par to claim the overall championship in the shortened nine-hole event.
Finishing second in the gross category was the team of Bill and LouAnn Dwyer and Cindy and Wayne Floyd. The net champions were Parker and Chuck Sanderson, Brian McGuire and Marty Gervais, with second net going to the team of Tony Marino, Kara Marino, Harriet Gray and Don Collins.
The Men’s Twilight League matches begin this Monday evening, June 9, with 30 teams this year. The Ladies Twilight League will also begin this week – Tuesday, June 3. Check the clubhouse bulletin board for the season schedule.
