The American Council of Engineering Companies of Maine recently held its annual meeting in Augusta, during which the following officers were elected: President – John Nelson, of Wright-Pierce in Topsham and Portland; President-Elect – Scott Graham, of James Sewall Company in Old Town; Treasurer – Brett Hart, also of James Sewall Company; and Secretary – Brian Ames, of Ames A/E in Bangor. The following state directors were also elected to the Board: Randy Bragg, of Carpenter Associates in Old Town; Rip Patten, of Credere Associates in Portland; Gene Shephard, of MACTEC Engineering & Consulting in Portland; Dale Mitchell, of HNTB Corporation in Westbrook; and James Wilson, of Woodard & Curran in Bangor, Portland and Presque Isle. Jack Palmer, of Kleinschmidt Associates in Pittsfield, will serve the Board as immediate past president. Bruce Ward, of Stantec in Scarborough, was elected national director. Chet Rock, associate dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Maine in Orono, was appointed as an advisory member. Paul Lariviere, of Maine Tomorrow in Hallowell, was appointed to serve as the organization’s executive director.
ACEC of Maine represents over 55 consulting engineering firms across the state with more than 1,000 engineering professionals. The state organization is affiliated with its national parent that represents over 5,700 firms with more than 300,000 professionals.
