1:55 a.m. Bennett Drive — Alarm — An alarm company reported a hold-up alarm activated at a local business.
Action — Police were informed that one of the employees had gone into the freezer and was showing another the panic button. 8 a.m. East Presque Isle Road — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller advised of vehicles on the East Presque Isle Road driving excessively fast. This had been an issue for quite a while but appeared to be getting worse. Caller offered to have police park in his driveway to watch the situation.
Action — Police will have the early shift officers attempt to watch the area.
1:30 p.m. Caribou Police Department — Criminal Mischief — Officer reported several stop signs (about 18) had been painted on in the northeast area of town, beginning at Solman Street. Advised officers to be aware of actions.
1:45 p.m. Sweden Street — Theft — Caller reported a possible shoplifter at the business trying on sunglasses and suspected subject had stolen some pairs of glasses but had not witnessed it. Caller reported speaking to an occupant of a car parked next to the subject ‘s vehicle who had seen the subject trying on new glasses in the vehicle. Employee of the business confronted the subject asking where the glasses were and was advised they had been replaced on the shelf.
Action — Police received vehicle information.
2:30 p.m. Jacobs Avenue — Harassment — Female requested to speak to an officer because her neighbor had come outside hollering and screaming at her.
Action — Officer spoke with subject and advised her to cease.
3:14 p.m. Grimes Road — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller reported two vehicles drag racing on the Grimes Road. Police received a second call regarding the same situation.
Action — Officer was watching for vehicles.
8:50 p.m. Vickers Drive — Suspicious Vehicle — Caller advised of a black vehicle with New York plates, driving back and forth on Vickers Drive.
Action — Officers check area but did not locate vehicle.
Friday, May 30
3:27 p.m. Vickers Drive — Drugs — Caller advised police of a bunch of needles in front of a residence. Requested police to come by and pick them up.
Action — Officer picked up six needles, bringing them to the police station.
6:36 p.m. Sweden Street — Burglary of Motor Vehicle — Caller reported while at a local business someone had taken her wallet from her vehicle. Wallet contained credit cards, checkbook and cash.
Action — Police advised caller she would be contacted if wallet was located. Caller called station again advising someone from the business had called her stating her wallet had been located in the parking lot.
8:58 p.m. Bennett Drive — Juvenile — Caller reported that while driving on Bennett Drive two male juveniles entered the roadway and she almost struck them.
Action — Officer located juveniles subjects, told them of the complaint and advised them to stay out of the road.
9:39 p.m. Route 1 — Motor Vehicle complaint — Male caller reported a male subject with a stick lying in the road by a local business. Caller advised police he had slowed down and the subject had hid in the ditch.
Action — Officer checked the area and did not locate anyone.
10:30 p.m. Van Buren Road — Assault — Caller advised police of a subject coming to them reported being stabbed; no other information available.
Action — Information officer could gain would put the incident happening at a location in Connor.
Saturday, May 31
10:55 a.m. Myrtle Street — Violation of Probation Order — Individual requested an officer to speak with him in regard to a roommate he has that is always intoxicated.
Action — Officer will stop by and see what is going on at the residence. Determined that subject is on probation, contact was made with probation officer who requested subject be brought to the police department.
7 p.m. Washburn Street — Public Assistance — Caller requested police accompany him to a residence and assist with removing occupant. Papers had been served and subject had 48 hours to vacate the residence.
Action — Officer stated he was not comfortable with removing occupants at night. Caller agreed to come back the next day. Occupants removed June 1.
10:30 p.m. Bennett Drive — Criminal Mischief — While on patrol officer was flagged into a local business parking lot. Individual advised of someone vandalizing a car.
Action — After taking information, officer was unable to locate suspect’s vehicle. Limestone Police were notified of complain and they will attempt to make contact.
Sunday, June 1
1:10 a.m. Bennett Drive — Disorderly Conduct — Caller from a local business requested officers immediately.
Action — Police found an employee of the business was causing the disturbance. Subject had been requested to leave by the management but had refused (subject was intoxicated ). Finally decided it was in his best interest go leave.
1:15 p.m. Rose Acres — Check on Wellbeing — Caller from Lifeline requested police to check on an individual.
Action — Officer checked and a neighbor said subject had left earlier, also informing where the manager lived should officer need to gain entry.
5:20 p.m. Paris Snow Drive — Civil Complaint — Police witnessed a vehicle driving erratically, following a vehicle too close, trying to hit it. Officer immediately pulled the vehicle over. Operator stated that the operator of the second vehicle had stole his dog. A second officer was requested to stop the second vehicle, which was located on Washington Avenue. First subject advised police the subject in the second car had come to his place of employment on South Main Street, kicked him, then stole his dog. Subject was advised to stay put while officer spoke to the second subject. The second officer involved was already speaking to the subject when officer arrived. Through conversation with the occupants of the vehicle, police were advised by a female subject that she and the first subject had just broken off a serious relationship. Female stated she just dropped off his belongings at his mother’s house and was keeping the dog. She advised that neither of the parties had registered the dog.
Action — Female subject was told that because the dog was in her possession at the time, that the issue was a civil matter, but she could leave with the canine. Male subject was not very happy with the results.
Monday, June 2
4:18 p.m. Glenn Street — Theft — Caller reported a bicycle was taken from the Caribou Middle School between 8:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. A description and value of the item was given.
Action — Police will check with school to see if they have cameras aimed on the bike area. Officers will also watch for it around town. Bicycle owner came back in the police station on June 3, stating he knew who had the bike. Officer spoke with suspect and a summons was issued for theft.
Wednesday, June 4
5:20 a.m. West Gate Road — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller inquired if police had seen a truck belonging to his father, parked alongside of the road. The vehicle had been in his driveway during the night but was gone that morning.
Action — Vehicle was located by the filtration plant, with the keys inside. Officer secured the vehicle and it was brought to the police station.
