Summer reading program

    PRESQUE ISLE – Join “Catch The Reading Bug!” this summer at the Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library and discover the amazing world of insects.
    The 2008 Summer Reading Program is open to young people – toddlers to young adults. Every participant registering for the program will be have the opportunity to enroll in the Sea Dog ticket program, the Pizza Hut Award Certificate Program, and our new partnership with TD Banknorth Summer Reading Program.     Reading categories include family reader, intermediate reader, or independent reading. Special guests will share their experiences with our creepy crawly friends. Registrations are being accepted now by contacting the Library at 764-2571 or stopping by to fill out registrations in the Youth Services Department at 39 Second St. All programs are free of charge and children of all abilities are welcome.
    Ann Chase, a local beekeeper, will be the featured guest at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 25. Join us for a fantastic presentation about keeping domestic bees and how they share the honey they provide.
    No live bees will be present at this demonstration. FMI, call the Library at 764-2571.
