Winners of Show ‘n Shine

    Another one of the vehicle events featured at the Houlton State Agricultural Fair was the Show ‘n Shine, sponsored by the North Country Cruisers, at Community Park on July 6. Around 90 cars were shown by their owners.
CLASSICS – There were many participants showing off their classic beauties in the Houlton State Agricultural Fair Show ‘n Shine event.
    The North Country Cruisers will be holding their ninth annual fall Show ‘n Shine on August 23-24 at the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum in Littleton.
    Winners of the holiday Show ‘n Shine are as follows:
    Pre-50s: first, Allan and Jennifer Weiner, 1921 Rolls Royce and second, David Rairdon, 1949 Chrysler Royal.
    1950s: first, Wayne Crosby, 1955 Chevy; second, D.J. Fitzpatrick, 1956 Chevy Belair and third, Larry Nelson, 1951 Mercury.
    1960s: first, Rick Tarr, 1967 Chevy Chevelle; second, Pat Candeloro, 1966 Ford Thunderbird and third, Sonny Hornbrook, 1964 Chevy SS.
    1970s: first, Mike Murchie, 1973 Camaro; second, Susan McAfee, 1972 Chevy Chevelle and third, Raymond McAvoy, 1974 Chevy Nova.
    1980s to present: first, Ricky Nelson, Ricky Nelson Camaro; second, Charlene McAvoy, 1988 Olds Cutlass and third, Percy Cochran, 1982 Pontiac Trans Am.
    Street Rods: first, Pam Oakes, 1939 Chevy Coupe; second, Tom McAfee, 1931 Ford Model A and third, Randy Carmichael, 1930 Model A Ford.
    Pickups 1979 and older: first, Mitchell Currie, 1966 Chevy; second, Pete Woodcock, 1978 Dodge and third, Brandon McAfee, 1978 Chevy.
    Pickups 1980 and newer: first, Jeff Swimm, 1988 Chevy; second, Casey Rairdon, 1988 Chevy and third, Logan Quint, 2003 Chevy Silverado.
    Mustangs: first, Malcolm Ford, 2005 Ford; second, Carlene and Gaildor Lagace, 2000 Mustang and third, Brent Belyea, 1969 Mustang.
    Corvettes: first, Devin Rouge and second, John Corey.
    Sports Compact: first, Roy Prue, 1990 Eagle Talon TSI and second, Sheldon Simon, 1995 Dodge Neon.
    Muscle Car: first, Amanda O’Brien, 1969 Chevy Nova; second, Raymond Carmichael, 1966 GTO and  third, Allison Pimbott, 1967 Chevy Malibu.
    Special Interest: first, Gene Ross, 1967 Volkswagen Dune Buggy; second, Aaron Cyr, 1953 Jeep CJ and third, Bern Henderson, 1998 Ford Van.
    Motorcycle: first, Ryan and Joshua Botting, 220 Custom Chopper; second, Jody McAfee, 2003 Suzuki and third, Rick Tidd, 1982 Honda.
    Winner of the Best Paint, Carlene and Gaildor Lagace, 2000 Mustang, along with Best of Show and Best Interior to Amanda O’Brien, 1969 Chevy Nova and the People’s Choice went to Malcolm Ford’s 2005 Ford Mustang.
