Youth soccer
The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring four age groups of youth soccer this fall.
If your child has not already registered, registrations will be accepted until tomorrow at the main office.
The age groups are as follow: Grades K-1, 2-3, girls 4-6 and boys 4-6. Practices will begin the week of August 12.

ARC to meet
The Aroostook Riding Club will hold its monthly meeting at McDonald’s starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8.
On Sunday, August 10, the final Aroostook Riding Club horse show of the season will take place at the ring on the McIntyre Road in Hodgdon.
ARC organizers express their thanks to those riders from the area who stepped up and made the Northern Maine Fair Horse Show a success, and most especially, Billy Fitzpatrick and Jean Sloat.
Swim Program open to public
The Southern Aroostook Swim Program will be held at Jim and Nancy Lilley’s residence on the Smyrna Center Line Road from August 18-21. Non-residents are also welcome.

Drive-in or Fly-in
Mainely Sport Planes seventh annual fly-in or drive-in will be held August 8-10 at 53 North Road in Patten.
There will be plane rides, a candy drop, water slide, a jump house on the premises and three meals a day at The Hanger.

Show ‘n Shine
The annual Show ‘n Shine will be held August 23-24 at the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum.
There is no admission to enter a vehicle or to attend.
There will be lots of activities throughout the day, including a car cruise, kids’ games, driving challenges and a supper at the Agricultural Museum .
Throughout the Show ‘n Shine there will be give aways and lots of fun.
Alumni co-ed soccer game slated
Houlton High School will hold an alumni co-ed soccer game at 7 p.m. on August 11 at the high school soccer field.
