The Caribou ATV Club will host its final outside membership meeting on Thursday, August 14 at 6:30 p.m., with a hot dog roast at the back entrance of the VFW at 253 Van Buren Road in Caribou. They will be serving hot dogs, baked beans, chips, soda, salads and desserts. All are welcome to attend. The club will also be selling raffle tickets. First prize in the raffle is 20 pounds of cooked and cracked lobster, which will be delivered on Labor Day. Second prize is a $50 gas card, third prize is five ultimate car washes at Custom Car Wash, and fourth prize is a homemade blanket donated by Nancy Bosse. Tickets may be purchased from any club member or by contacting Bobbi Jo Hanley at 498-8307.
The winning tickets will be drawn at the chicken barbecue picnic, held on Sunday, August 24, at the North Caribou Community Park on the Van Buren Road. The barbecue will start at 11:30 a.m., serving barbecued chicken or hot dogs, baked beans, salads, chips, sodas and desserts. The raffle tickets will be drawn at 2 p.m., when the barbecue draws to a close. The park is accessible by ATV from the Bouchard/Guerrette trail.
