    DYER BROOK – Pearl E. Botting, 93, a long-time resident of Dyer Brook, died Aug. 27, 2008. Pearl was born Aug. 24, 1915, daughter of Joseph and Cora (McLaughlin) McNelly.
    During her last few years, she was a resident of Pine Grove Terrace, Oakfield and Madigan Estates, Houlton. For more than 65 years, she was a member of Smyrna Mills and Oakfield Pentecostal churches, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a willing giver of her time. Pearl belonged to Island Falls Snowmobile Club and later to Oakfield Snowmobile Club, Oakfield Senior Citizens, RSVP and also delivered for Meals on Wheels. She always wanted to be a helper.
    She is survived by her daughters, Nadine and husband, Hollis Bates, of Lewiston, Elaine and her husband, Richard Moyer, of South Boston, Va.; a son, Victor and special friend, Delores Procter, of Bucksport and Florida; a sister, Stella Larlee; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Pearl was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Frazier; her parents, Joseph and Cora; four brothers, Verl and his wife, Helen, Bertrand and his wife, Rose, Harold and his wife, Mabel, and Laurel "Jiggs" and his wife, Isabelle; one brother-in-law, Frank Larlee; and two sisters, Leah and her husband, Perley Porter, and Leita and her husband, Edward Haley. The family thanks the workers at Madigan Estates for the loving care they gave Pearl. Also, thanks to Bruce and Marge Larlee, Leslie and Donna McNelly, Larry and Kathleen Parks, Glenn McNelly and Don Jellison for lodging during our many visits; Darrell and Norma Porter for generous support when needed; the White family, and Barb and Randy Rockwell for seeing that Pearl got to church when she was able to go; and the hospice workers were great. God bless all of you.
    Friends called 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Oakfield, where funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Sterling Lawrence officiating. Interment was at Dyer Brook Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
