Amanda Buzzell and her daughter Faith display the book Faith received from the Caribou Public Library after completing the “Babies and Books” program. Jean Shaw, children’s librarian, waits to present Faith with her certificate of completion from the program. Upon completion, each baby, as they become one-year old also receives their first official library card.
The program provides families with their baby’s first library card, a variety of handouts giving tips and suggestions for age-appropriate activities and also a free board book. The program also includes an invitation to attend “Mother Goose Time” at the Caribou Public Library and upon reaching his or her first birthday, each child receives a certificate of completion.
Upon completion of Babies and Books/Mother Goose Time, a book will be placed in the children’s section of the library bearing the child’s name stating they have completed the “Babies and Books” program.
