FORT WAYNE – Lydia W. Barager, 86, died Sunday, August 31, 2008, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Fort Wayne, IN.
Born in Bridgewater, ME, she graduated as a Medical Tech. from Wilson Medical School, was a Manager at L.S. Ayres for 17 years and most recently was a substitute teacher at Bishop Dwenger High School. She enjoyed reading, shopping, baking, knitting afghans, golfing and going to church.
Survivors include her daughter, Edie B. (Byron) Andrews of Fort Wayne; son, Phillip W. Barager of Puyallup, WA; grandchildren, Lydia Carroll, Kelli Stearns, William Barager; brother, Robert (Edwena) Whited of Bridgewater, ME; sister, Anna Duvall of Mt. Laurel, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. William E. Barager Jr. in 2005 and brother, Harris G. Whited.
Service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St. where calling hours were held 1 hour prior with Rev. Daniel W. Fugate officiating. Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd. Burial was in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
