Oakfield plans Harvest Supper
The Oakfield Community Center will be the site of a Harvest Supper on Tuesday, Sept. 23 wit doors opening at 4 p.m. followed by supper at 5 p.m. and music and dancing into the evening. The free event is sponsored by the Tuesday Nite Music jam and donations are welcomed.
    The menu includes stuffed pork loin or turkey breast, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and rolls cooked by “imported” New Hampshire chef Dave. Persons are asked to bring veggies, deserts, pickles etc. As always, everyone is welcome.

TRIAD group to meet
The Houlton Police Department will hold a meeting Wednesday, Sept. 24 to introduce the Southern Aroostook TRIAD at the Houlton Regional Hospital training center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The meeting will feature two guest speakers, a short film and a meet-and-greet atmosphere with refreshments.
Topics of discussion will include: What is Triad?, What can Triad do?, Where is Triad?, Who participates in Triad?, and Where is Triad in Maine?
Persons who should attend the first Triad meeting include senior citizens, county law enforcement personnel, social service agency staff, business community members and anyone who cares about the Houlton region’s elderly residents.

Zoning Board tonight
Houlton’s Zoning Board of Appeals will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 21 Water St. The agenda includes approval of minutes from the Aug. 13 and 20 meetings as well as an application for a preschool by Darcy Lorom.
